Just a few things to note...

This site is set in a fictional universe created by Phoenix Tears Productions. The radio station is not real nor is based on any radio station real or fictional. The story surrounding the radio station is a work of fiction devised as part of an in-person immersive experience titled The Waiting Room. If you would like to experience The Waiting Room in person, the dates and locations listed on the home page are accurate to our in-person events presenting this experience.

The Artists listed on the Artist page, and their songs, are 100% real and are being used in an agreement with each individual artist.
Please check out the music they have so graciously allowed us to use by following the links on our artists page

A Word from the Creators.

This experience was originally conceptualized by both Mallory and I as a simple log-line idea to pitch with three other projects in a class workshop to create an immersive experience. Ultimately it was not the one chosen to be fully developed for that class, but found new life with the idea of adapting it into a site-specific show using the Silent Disco tech that Phoenix Tears Productions has used heavily for audio drama experience previously. From there we spiraled into this intentionally odd and potentially confusing experience that we hope to be able to tour to more places in the future. I hope you've enjoyed your Waiting Room experience, but remember to keep an eye out for anything that may be lurking behind the curtain...

Rachel Yee is a spatial audio artist from central Ohio who recently relocated to Orlando, FL. Her recent work brings soundscapes or virtual scenarios to life in immersive theatrical experiences. In addition to theatrical sound design, she also composes music for concert, film,
multi-speaker arrays, and headphones. Sometimes she is on short film sets capturing the sounds of goofy people or “fixing it in post” so no one knows how goofy the cast and crew can be. You can see some examples of her work and her ever growing collection of cloaks on her YouTube channel. Rachel is also currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts in Themed Experience at the University of Central Florida.

Kathy is a fifth generation Iowan and is lucky to be living on a family farm that was homesteaded in 1842, prior to Iowa Statehood.  She and her husband Michael have slowly been renovating their 1894 home to its turn of the century state – but without the outhouse.  Although she considers herself "at home" in small town Iowa, Kathy grew up in California which gives her a unique "bi-cultural" perspective on life.  She has been doing voicework and radio, both live and tracked, since 1978.  Kathy and her husband Michael have two grown children and two spectacular granddaughters.
